What is Demodex Infectiosity? What are the Differences Between Demodex Infectiosity and Incidence of Demodex?
Using a sebum quantification inspecting instrument to take sebum for localization, by quantifying the sebum, inspecting the Demodex and calculating the Demodex count, we can obtain the conventional Demodex count per person. This is the intensity of Demodex parasitity in the skin i.e. “Demodex Infectiosity.?
The Infestation Rate (incidence) is different from Demodex Infectiosity. It is qualitative, while the latter is quantitative. There is no differentiation of location, sebum quality and Demodex count in the former. As long as there is Demodex in the human skin, notwithstanding the count, it is considered positive and is known as the Infestation Rate (incidence).
